| very good. The concept of re-investigating Columbus seems silly and even overused. However, Card pulls it off. Pastwatch has time travel, creativity, action, historical detail, and a miserable view of where the earth is headed. The book is fascinating and fun to read. The characters seem real. The reader empathasizes with their sense of mission and determination. Card portrays his Indian societies with care, taking their side vs. the white man, but not over-doing it. The book keeps you going and also makes you think. |
