excellent. This is a real exciting book involving alternate universes. These separate "alternities" have similar histories. For example, an alternity might share our history until recently, but then have elected a different President several years ago. The theme is that people have found a way to move between the various alternate universes, and to take advantage of being able to be in both places (though not simultaneously). It mixes science fiction, creative ideas, fascinating characters (who can be quite evil) and good action to produce a book that cannot be put down. The science itself is not an emphasis. The author keeps the ideas and surprises coming throughout the book. The characters are diverse and interesting.

By the way, this is an adult book. The subject matter sounds like material for teens, but the action and details are written for adults.
